ZY-3 Satellite Images Promoted in Countries along the Belt and Road
The International Seminar on ZY-3 Satellite Imagery Application and Promotion was held on January 5, 2017 at the NASG Headquarters. The senior representatives and experts from the national mapping and geospatial information agencies of eight countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia and Central Asia, gathered at the seminar and through discussions reached a consensus on promoting the application of ZY-3 satellite imagery in relevant fields in their countries.
At the Seminar, the experts from the NASG Satellite Surveying and Mapping Application Center (SASMAC) introduced about the ZY-3 satellites. Sixteen delegates from the national mapping and geospatial information agencies of Laos, Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia and Kazakhstan presented the status of satellite imagery application in their respective countries, raised their demand for high-resolution satellite images and expressed the willingness to cooperate in promoting the application of ZY-3 satellite images in their countries and jointly establishing a ZY-3 satellite image application platform. The participants considered and determined a follow-up work plan. During the Seminar, SASMAC signed a MOU with the Survey Department of Sri Lanka, and held a bilateral meeting with the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency of Thailand.
