National Conference on Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation Held in Beijing
The National Conference on Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation was held on December 27, 2016 at the NASG headquarters. Jiang Daming, Minister of Land and Resources and Inspector General of National Land, attended the conference and made a speech. Kurexi Maihesuti, Vice Minister of Ministry of land and resources and Director General of NASG, chaired the conference and delivered a work report.
Jiang Daming acknowledged the new progress of NASG in reform and innovation-driven development and the good start with the 13th Five-Year Plan. He also put forward new requirements regarding the surveying, mapping and geoinformation work in 2017.
Kurexi reviewed the work in 2016 in his report, including the successful completion of the first National Geographical Census, the synergistic development of thematic planning and major projects, the remarkable achievements in building up the legal framework, and the enhanced roles of geoinformation. The report defined the key tasks of the surveying, mapping and geoinformation work in 2017, such as promoting the implementation of the 13th Five-Year Plan, enforcing the new Surveying and Mapping Law, expanding the application of the National Geographic Census results, carrying out the regular national geographic monitoring, advancing the supply-side structural reform in the surveying, mapping and geoinformation sector, and implementing the innovation-driven development strategy.
