Multilateral Exchange

National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation (NASG), or through Chinese Society for Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation, participates in the activities of international professional organizations including ISPRS, ICA, FIG, IUGG/IAG, UN-GGIM-AP and ISO/TC211. The 20th International Cartographic Conference of ICA was held in 2001 in Beijing, China. The 21st Congress of the International Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Society (ISPRS) was held in 2008 in Beijing, China, and Beijing Declaration was adopted.

NASG supports Chinese experts and scholars to play important roles in international professional organizations. Those who assume major responsibilities in such organizations include: Dr. Li Pengde, Deupty Director General of NASG, as President of UN-GGIM-AP for 2012-2015; Prof. Chen Jun, Chief Engineer of National Geomatics Center of China, as President of ISPRS for 2012-2016; Dr. Cheng Pengfei, Director of National Surveying & Mapping Product Quality Inspection and Test Center, as Vice President of FIG for 2012-2016; Prof. Liu Yaolin, Dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Sciences of Wuhan University, as Vice President of ICA for 2011-2015.
